2017-2018 Chakra Paintings
The English translation of the Sanskrit word "anahata" is "unhurt, unstruck, and/or unbeaten". According to Hindu Yogic, Shakta and Buddhist Tantric traditions, it is known as the fourth primary, heart chakra. Anahata Nad refers to the Vedic concept of unstruck sound (the sound of the celestial realm). It is associated with balance, calmness, and serenity. Here anahata represented by a lotus flower with twelve petals overlaying concentric circles, and concentrically drawn, a "beating" heart.
