In this series title "eight limbs of ashtanga yoga, a series summing up 14 years of my studio life and 30 years of my yoga practice" I make an art historical reference to Courbet's famous 1855 "The Artist's Studio, a real allegory summing up seven years of my artistic and moral life". In the imagery I focus on my life's passions of yoga and art...nodding specifically to the 2nd Chapter of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, to Pop Art, especially to Robert Indiana's work, to word art, and to yantra painting.
