Dominique’s 'Tourbillion Paintings' were realized between November 2019 and March 2020, while she was still grieving the unexpected loss of her father. The work accurately reflects her sense of shock and search to re-anchor her psychic center. Unlike much of her prior painting, which contains gestural under-painting, and resolves with either a radially symmetrical device, or another geometric composition, here those measured overlays are absent. These paintings led immediately to the "Pandemic Paintings" portfolio, also on this sites 'Galleries'.
