During the week of August 21, eighteen total works were installed for my PhD exegesis exhibition, "Skin Deep- On Abstract Painting & The Nature of Beauty" at the Greenspring Gallery, Stevenson University, Stevenson, MD. One of the show's highlights, a 3-part painting titled "Populus Humilis et Divinus (People, Humble and Divine)" is done in a hard-edge, geometric or post-minimal style. It acts as an actual color key to the exhibition. I painted it as a 21st C. woke response to Barnett Newman's "Vir Heroicus Sublimus." (... Latin for Man, Heroic and Sublime.)
