I still work to complete a mural size linen that has stumped me for months. It is crazy because the concept could not be more simple, or straightforward. The piece is based on the 6 skin tones formatted in the Fitzpatrick Chart, which is used to determine appropriate Sun Protection Factor.
What I resolved in my mind yesterday while in my studio, working on the color palette is that I will likely cut in half, into thirds, or into six parts, and have each stretched over separate frames. In my mind this may be a satisfactory resolution, for one of the aspects I have been wresting with for months.
One more thing that I am more zero-ed in on now is the precise color palette. To help myself better calculate it, after many failed attempts of trying to work that out directly on the long linen, I created two simple color swatch charts. From it, I've selected six colors that I think will be make up the final painting palette.
Finally, I am seriously considering the title. I may call it, in both a nod to as well as an update on Barnett Newman's "Vir Heroicus Sublimis”, "Populus Humilis Divinus."
