Jun 2024-LEH Writing Retreat
On June 10, 11 & 12, to work on my dissertation, I attended 2.5 days of the Summer 2024 Lehman College Virtual Writing Retreat. To summarize, for me it went like this:
Virtual Writing Retreat Schedule
Day 1- Monday, June 10
10:00-10:30- Overview, Ice-breaker, Break into Groups
10:30-12:30- Small group session- Though I worked on the following for all of last week, I spent time completing my teaching/scholarship/service annual updates and cross-listed between:

12:30-1:30- Lunch/Presentation
1:30-3:30- Small group session-
~I added my edited ‘Appendix B- Six Artist Interviews’ to the end of my dissertation…it is gorgeous, and more interesting and logical to read than the MAXQDA code comparison chart.
3:30-3:45pm- Afternoon Break
3:45-5:45pm- Small group session- ~I created various MAXQDA ‘code comparison charts’ from six artist interviews I had conducted, one of which will become a dissertation appendix. (I’ll have 4 or 5 total…is that too many?)... I am starting to accept the Artist Interviews and the coding chart, all of which have taken too much of my time these 18 months, will live as a things unto themselves, as Appendices. Ugh.
5:45-6:00pm- Wrap-up

Day 2- Tuesday, June 11
10:00-10:15am- Welcome, Overview, Break into Groups
10:15-12:15pm- Small group session- I assembled and labeled images for my ‘Appendix A- Painting Studio Praxis Works- 2021-2023.’

1:30-3:30pm- Small group session- I assembled and labeled images for my ‘Appendix A- Painting Studio Praxis Works- 2021-2023.’
3:30-3:45pm- Afternoon Break
3:45-5:45pm- Small group session- I edited/refined/completed ‘Appendix A- Painting Studio Praxis Works- 2021-2023,’ and added it to my dissertation.
5:45-6:00pm- Wrap-up

Day 3- Wednesday, June 12
10:00-10:15am- Welcome, Overview, Break into Groups
10:15-12:15pm- Small group session- I wrote, edited, signed, dated, and emailed an art faculty colleague his Annual Faculty Evaluation Conference Report.
